ARCON welcomes members from a diverse range of professional backgrounds: magistrates, lawyers, corporate counsel, public officials, academics, trademark and patent attorneys, economists, trade experts, students. Please see the Membership section of the website to view the various types of membership available and join.
ARCON, as the Romanian national group of the Ligue, participates in the yearly international Congress of the Ligue and submits two national reports, on the questions of law approved by the League’s Scientific Committee under the co-ordination of the reputed international rapporteurs chosen for each topic.
The Congress debates the international reports, which are based on the reports submitted by the national groups, and then approves a Resolution delineating the Ligue’s common position on each of the topics. ARCON was founded to act as a hub/ an incubator for the study and discussion of all national, EU and international developments and commercial practices on competition law, including its intersection with unfair competition law and intellectual property law. By promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences between all professionals interested in this field of law, the association wishes to create an impartial forum for debate and create valuable knowledge on any topic of interest to the field, thus leveraging its credibility and reputation to promote a fair and balanced application and interpretation of competition law which serves the interests of consumers, the business environment and the public at large.
ARCON is also the Romanian national group of the International Ligue of Competition Law (LIDC), an international association founded in 1930 focused on the study of competition law, intellectual property law and unfair competition law. You can check the Ligue’s website here.
This means that by becoming a member of ARCON you also automatically gain membership to the International Ligue of Competition Law and can participate in the international activities organized by the Ligue and its 16 national groups.
